Hi Liz,
I'll have to check out "Facing Ali." We saw "Food, Inc." this weekend - an excellent, complete film. Powerful and motivating. I feel so much better about spending $200 per week at Whole Foods! And thanks for passing the blog around - much appreciated!

I saw "Facing Ali" on Saturday and thought it had surprising depth, although of course the initial draw for most would be the boxing footage of self-proclaimed "the greatest."

Congratulations on your marriage, Lee.

I also love the blog and send entries on to my friends and family often.

Another example is when Discovery Channel did "Planet Earth." Expensive, deep ideas, and popular with the public.

Hi Lee,

I realize it's common wisdom that the deep and serious topics and themes don't sell well--but I'm often reminded of A Man for All Seasons, starring Paul Scofield, released in 1966. It's serious and deep, and producers had trepidations about how it would be received by the general public--thinking that people wouldn't get it. Yet it was a huge hit, and Scofield won the Best Actor Oscar for his brilliant performance of Sir Thomas More.

I think people are more sophisticated than given credit for.
