It's serious and deep, and producers had trepidations about how it would be received by the general public--thinking that people wouldn't get it. Yet it was a huge hit, and Scofield won the Best Actor Oscar for his brilliant performance of Sir Thomas More. I think people are more sophisticated than given credit for. Bob Hi Lee,
