Hey John, thanks for commenting! Active listening -without internal clutter - is one of the most challenging things around, but also one of the most useful, in marriage, parenting and in filmmaking. It might be most challenging in filmmaking because if it's a one-camera shoot and you say "uh huh yeah right" you've stepped on the other person's audio. As for my audio ... well, I do make a brief audio appearance in the latest SHELTER blog.

Good blog, Lee. What is it about listening, real listening that is so overlooked and difficult in our daily lives? I find I have to clear away a bit of my own internal clutter before I really begin to listen. But I find it is almost always worth the effort. My only suggestion for your blog? I wish you had recorded your reading of it so I could have listened to this as well. Great piece.
